More than 20,000 people applied to be part of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State’s Class of 2023, and 4,270 can now consider themselves to be Golden Flashes.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Celebrates Homecoming
On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State pride.

Future Nurses Get Ahead by Giving Back at Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Geauga
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Geauga Campus is a rigorous academic environment that requires serious discipline, study, practice, and testing. It’s also an intimate environment of friends, instructors, and mentors who support each other from one challenge to the next, and inspire one another to reach out for the benefit of others. As a student association, they give back to the community through fundraising, strengthening the nursing program for future students and charitable outreach throughout the region.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Associate Professor Molly Merryman, Ph.D., says a Netflix cartoon featuring a transgender character is breaking a new boundary in a positive way.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Student Wins Talent Show for Singing in Sign
A North Royalton woman whom who will become a Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº student in the fall, won first place at the Medina County Fair talent show for performing a song in American Sign Language.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Volunteers Impact the Lives of Others Beyond CampusÂ
Every other Tuesday, student volunteers from the Campus Kitchen at Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº prepare dinner for the residents of the Âé¶¹Ó°Ôºway Apartment Complex, a government-subsidized housing complex on East Summit Street in Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº. At 5 p.m. residents gather in the dining hall and volunteers serve the meal which is prepared from food donated by Trader Joe’s.

Competing for the Crown: Three Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Students Participate in Miss Ohio Title Competition
Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State students Caitlin Seifert, Emelia Sherin and Danielle Vivcharenko were three of 22 women who competed for the crown in the Miss Ohio 2019 Pageant.

Phillip Grant, Jr. grew up in Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº, Ohio, and attends Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº as a broadcast journalism major. Considering he has spent the majority of his life in the Tree City, Mr. Grant is the perfect tour guide for WKYC's Danielle Wiggins. Watch as Mr. Grant shows Ms. Wiggins all the town has to offer.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Team Competes in 2019 Air Race Classic
Kenzie Alge, a Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº certified flight instructor and 2019 graduate, and Alex Johnson, a Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State junior flight technology student, make up the Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State team competing in the 2019 Air Race Classic that starts June 18 in Jackson, Tennessee.
